Rapunzel Naturkost is a German family business founded in Bavaria in 1974. Its story begins like a fairy tale — Joseph Wilhelm and Jennifer Vermeulen rented a farm and opened a small 20 square meter organic food store in Augsburg. Over the course of five decades, they have grown into one of Europe's leading organic food manufacturers, with a product range of nearly 550 different products.
Rapunzel specializes in high-quality organic nut spreads, dried fruits, muesli, pasta, cooking oils, chocolate, coffee and baking supplies. All products are certified organic, GMO-free, without artificial additives or flavor enhancers. The brand is also Demeter-certified — one of the world's strictest biodynamic farming certifications.
Rapunzel launched its HAND IN HAND fair trade program in 1992, which ensures fair prices and conditions for producers in developing countries — Turkey, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Today, the Turkish project employs over 430 farmers, growing figs, apricots, raisins, hazelnuts and olives for Rapunzel. A portion of the purchase price goes to a fund that supports local community projects around the world.
