Organic Japanese Matcha Green Tea Powder - Premium Grade, 40g

Matcha is a finely ground bright green tea powder made from the highest quality Japanese tea leaves. Clearspring Organic Premium Matcha Green Tea Powder comes from the Uji region in the mountains of Kyoto, known for the finest Japanese teas. Growing in a pristine area accessible only by foot, the matcha is naturally protected from pests, without excessive fertilizers or pesticides. It is grown in the shade in the final months to allow the leaves to fill with chlorophyll. The finest young tea buds are picked, dried and ground in a granite mill.

Preparation:

Classic Matcha:

1. Take ¼ teaspoon (1g) of Matcha powder and add hot water that has not quite boiled to preserve the beneficial properties.
2. Whisk thoroughly with a bamboo whisk or handheld whisk to avoid lumps.

Japanese tea ceremony:

1. Heat the bowl with water, empty and dry.
2. Add 1½ heaping bamboo scoops of Matcha powder.
3. Add 50-60 ml of hot water (70-80°C). Whisk quickly in a “W” motion until foam forms.
4. Add more water to taste and enjoy the silky taste.

Vanilla Matcha Latte:

• Mix 1g of Matcha with cold water and add hot vanilla soy milk, whisking. Vanilla rice or almond milk is also suitable.

Matcha Smoothie: Blend and enjoy:

• 200 ml organic soy milk, rice milk or almond milk
• 1 tbsp Clearspring malt syrup
• 1 teaspoon Clearspring Matcha powder
• 1 banana (or other fresh or frozen fruit)
• Ice cubes
